All About Kuhmillion Lingerie
We're an online retro and burlesque style lingerie shop based in Austin, Texas. The Texan pronunciation is "Kuh-mill-yuhn," but people say our name a lot of different ways. It's fine by us; we're just happy you found us.
We started Kuhmillion Lingerie in 2009 because we wanted to create a unique online lingerie boutique, someplace where we ourselves would shop. We're lovers of vintage fashion and art, often feeling like we were born in the wrong decade. We just love the burlesque artform and related fashion, along with the glamorous clothing styles of the 1920's - 1950s, so we dedicate our shop to lingerie that is reminiscent of those fabulous bygone eras. We also enjoy connecting with people and meeting people from all over the world and Kuhmillion has made that happen. We never lose sight of the fact that our shop is all about the people we meet; making our customers happy is our number one goal.
Another thing that's very important to us is education and we try to help our customers learn something new about lingerie. Many people today simply don't know the names of fabrics, garments, construction terminology and lingerie styles. We hope to change that for anyone who is curious, and we have created an informative library of articles called
The Study to help share the history and the knowledge of lingerie. And of course we never lose site of what our products are really all about: bringing couples together in a celebration of love and intimacy. It really doesn't get much better than that! We love our business because of the satisfaction we get from helping others revel in a fun fantasy, an exotic escape. We hope our products help couples keep the passion and spark in their relationships.
Around the Shop
Patrick is the web developer and online workhorse, keeping the site running smoothly, developing new
features as well as penning all of the informative articles in
the Study. Yes, he really does write all of those! Beth is the creative spirit, designer of the site and the Kuhmillion branding, as well as the voice behind our social networking channels. Her extensive experience in both graphic design and retail is what keeps the shop looking so put-together.
And one last thing...
You may be wondering why we have a
roller derby section in the middle of all this burlesque themed lingerie. Beth has fallen in love with roller derby and currently skates with the Rockin' City Rollergirls. We've made many great friends in the derby world here in Austin who also support Kuhmillion, so we like to stock our shop with things that they'd like.
